The Karnataka Government, the leader in Information & Technology announced a new scheme for entrepreneurship development called Rajiv Ghandhi Entrepreneurship Scheme (RGES / ರಾಜೀವ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಉದ್ಯಮಶೀಲತೆ ಯೋಜನೆ) for young innovators and entrepreneurs in the state. The objective of the scheme is to encourage and support graduating students and professionals to pursue entrepreneurship related to technology business. The government will provide financial support under the scheme to mitigate the risk during initial days of the startup. The RGES was announced by the Minister of IT Priyank Kharge.

- Monthly grant of Rs. 30,000
- Mentoring and support to the startups
- Support in fund raising
Rajiv Ghandhi Entrepreneurship Scheme (RGES) Eligibility:
- Students who turned down placement offers to pursue their entrepreneurship dreams
- Working professionals who quit their jobs for their entrepreneurial venture
- Technology based ideas or startups only can apply for the scheme
- Residents of Karnataka only can apply for the scheme
