In order to provide opportunities to meritorious students studying Higher Education, the State Government of Uttarakhand (Social Welfare Department) is providing a scholarship to the General Category girls/women Students. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide a scholarship to the girls/women belongs to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families for higher education like medical, engineering, Polytechnic, ITI, M.B.A etc. There are ample of schemes for reserved categories which are meant for the welfare of the community, but general category candidates have few, and one those few scheme is the Scholarship Scheme for Students Who Belong to General Poor Family under which students from open category who are poor will get financial assistance to carry on their education.
