SWADES Scheme: Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support

Government has lunched scheme for Indians returning from abroad during COVID-19. Scheme name is Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support/SWADES. The scheme is for Indians who came back to India from abroad and lost their jobs. Most of the worker’s companies got shut down during COVID-19 pandemic. Most of the workers are well qualified and skilled. Companies in india can benefit from them and they can also get job.

Under the scheme government is providing SWADES card to get benefits of the scheme. Employment under the scheme will be provided on the basis of database of skill and qualification of the returning citizen under the Vande Bharat Mission (VBM). All these returning workers needs to fill in the form with their details on their arrival. Received information will be shared with Indian & foreign companies so that they can directly contact.

This scheme is combined initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of External Affairs. National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is helping to implementation of the scheme. Though Vande Bharat Mission more than 57,000 Indian have returned to the country.

Online application for SWADES scheme: For online registration of the SWADES scheme apply on the website www.nsdcindia.org/swades . Online application process has started from 30 May, 2020. So far 7000 registration have completed for the SWADES Skill Card – Form.

How to apply for SWADES Skill Card – Form:

• Step-1: Visit the official/Bank’s website: http://www.nsdcindia.org/swades/
• Step-2: Fill the Skill Card form with required information
• Step-3: Click on the Submit button
• Step-4: Download the confirmation page and take a print out for future reference
