The West Bengal government has announced Yuvashree Arpan scheme for the unemployed youth in the state. Financial assistance will be provided to the youth to start their business under the scheme. The WB CM Mamata Banerjee announced the scheme.
The primary objective of the scheme is to help youth create self-employment & employment in the state. The state Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) department will implement the scheme. 50,000 unemployed youth in the state will get benefited from the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicable only for the WB permanent residents
- Applicable only for the youth
- All those with technical degrees from recognized institutes are eligible
- ITI pass-outs are also eligible
Yuvashree Arpan is expected to promote entrepreneurship in the state. Empowering entrepreneurs will create jobs which will lead to the economic growth in the state. The WB government has allocated yearly budget of Rs. 500 crores for the project. The implementation of the scheme will start from 1st April 2019.
Beneficiaries can start small & medium scale business units. The state MSME & Textile Department will provide assistance. The government also provides trainings for the entrepreneurs in the state.
