Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC): defence startups competition | Eligibility, important dates & how to apply at aim.gov.in

The Defence Innovation Organization under Ministry of Defense, GOI in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission has announced a competition for defense startups called Defence India Startup Challenge (DISC). The objective of the challenge is to support innovative startups from the defense space in India and to provide them opportunity to showcase their products/solutions and services on the larger government backed forum. Defence startups which has prototypes or working products or solutions can participate in the competition. The government is planning to financially support these startups in the area of national security through equity-linked grant-based mechanism.

STEP 4: Provide details of the startup/product/solution along with research papers or patents if any

STEP 5: Upload business plan

STEP 6: Click on Submit button to complete the application

Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX)

  • An framework launched in April 2018 in DefExpo
  • To create ecosystem of defence research
  • Primarily for startups, MSME, individual innovators, research institutes
  • Grant will be provided under the scheme
  • An executive arm of the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO)

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM):

  • Govt of India flagship program to promote culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in India
  • Objective is to create programs and policies for innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Atal Tinkering Labs and Atal Incubation Centers provide support to Established Incubation Centers
  • Aim is to find ultra-low-cost solution to problems based by the people of the country through Atal New India Challenges and Atal Grand Challenges
