The Free Laptop Scheme for Visually Impaired Students for Pursuing UG and PG Courses is started by Odisha State Government (Ministry of Women and Child Development) for visually impaired students who wish to pursue higher education in technical and professional education. The main objective of this scheme is to encourage visually impaired students for pursuing higher education including technical or professional education courses but pursuing such courses find hard to continue without special aids like computer with compatible software along with access to laptop will not only enable them to meet their learning requirements, but also will prepare them to meet the challenges of rapidly changing society. Under this scheme, free laptops will be provided to those students who are visually impaired and residence of Odisha state. Forgetting eligible candidates needs to satisfy some conditions such as residence and other things

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Free Laptop Scheme for Visually Impaired Students for Pursuing UG and PG Courses:
- Candidate must be a permanent residence of Odisha state
- The applicant must have disability certificate with 40% and above disability by competent authority
- The applicant must not have received free laptop earlier
- The applicant must be pursuing the second year and above UG or PG course including M.Phil., P.hD, Law, Management, Medicine and other technical courses
Document required for applying Free Laptop Scheme for Visually Impaired Students for Pursuing UG and PG Courses:
- Aadhar card
- Permanent residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
- Bonafide certificate
- Previous year Marksheets
- Caste certificate
- Non-creamy layer certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Passport size photographs
- Disability certificate
- UG/PG Degree certificate if available
Application procedure:
- The applicant should apply to concerned Collector in the prescribed format along with disability certificate and recommendation of the Principal or Head of the institution
- Laptops will be distributed by Director WoPwDs
