Free schooling and job scheme for orphans

Haryana government has released a notification regarding launch and implementation of ‘Free schooling and job scheme for orphans’ (HARIHAR scheme) in the state. This scheme is mainly for the children orphaned/ abandoned/ surrendered before the age of five and lived in child care institutions until eighteen years of their age. Under this scheme the beneficiary children will get benefits in education as well as employment. Under this scheme the children will get free schooling, higher education, technical education, skill development, interest free loan for purchasing a house n Haryana, etc. This is a welfare scheme for the benefit of the orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children.

• The main objective of the scheme is welfare of orphaned, abandoned and surrendered children across the state.
• This scheme covers children of the state who are orphaned, surrendered and abandoned before the age of five years and have lived in a child care institution till the age of eighteen years.
• Under this scheme education and employment will be provided to the beneficiary children.
• This assistance will be provided to the children up to age of 25 years or till their marriage whichever is earlier.
• One time interest free loan will also be provided to the beneficiaries to buy a house in Haryana.
• This scheme will ensure overall welfare and development of the beneficiary children in the state.
