Delhi government launched Free Wi-Fi scheme from ITO bus stop in December, 2019. Under this scheme free public Wi-Fi hotspots are set up everywhere in Delhi. This scheme aims at ensuring stable and speedy internet facility to everyone in the city. Through this scheme each person will get about 15 GB data free every month. Maximum limit for consumption of data per day is 1.5 GB. Currently there are 10,561 hotspots with a radius of 100 meters are installed throughout Delhi. About 2,208 hotspots are installed at bus stops and remaining 8,353 hotspots are installed at other places. In view of the successful implementation of the scheme for 1 year, on August 3, 2021 the Delhi state cabinet approved the proposal of continuation of this scheme for the citizens of Delhi.
