Due to the prevalent second wave of Covid-19 pandemic across the country, central government as well as all the state governments are taking various measures to bring the situations under control. Various strict restrictions are imposed in every other state keeping in mind the pandemic situations. States have imposed strict restrictions on group gatherings and movement of people throughout the week, some states have imposed night curfews, some states have imposed weekend curfews and so on. Amidst all the restrictions the state governments are still trying to ensure all the essential services are provided to all the citizens without any disruption.
On the same line, government has started the e-pass mechanism throughout the states for essential service providers and other residents for movement in case of emergency. Central government provided a template to all the state governments and asked to run a e-pass mechanism as required. One can apply online for the e-pass state-wise as applicable by mentioning all the required details.

How to Apply for e-pass:
- Visit the official site as applicable state-wise (list is given below)
- Select the relevant option to apply for e-pass/ movement pass/ curfew pass
- Enter the personal details like name, age, gender, address, contact details, etc.
- Get the mobile no. verified via OTP
- Then on the next page mention the reason for applying (extreme emergency reason) along with place and dates
- Upload the required documents and click on submit
- The application will be verified by the concerned authority and thereby if found valid the same will approved and an e-pass will be issued
- In case if online service is not available the person can visit the nearest police station and fill the required form
- e-pass will consist of the person’s details, vehicle number, validity and a QR code
- Hard copy as well as soft copy or the pass is to be showed as required while travelling
