The State Government of Uttarakhand (Social Welfare Department) has set up Industrial Training Institutes to provide technical education to the Scheduled Caste students in the state. In these Institutions, the government provides training of motor mechanic, electrician, fitter, television & radio repairer and Hindi shorthand etc. There are three Industrial Training Institute has established by the government named State Industrial Training Institute, Paiyas, Nainital, State Industrial Training Institute, Nainital & State Industrial Training Institute, Bageshwar.  The main objective of the scheme is to provide vocational training to school leavers, existing workers, ITI graduates, etc. to improve their employability by optimally utilizing the infrastructure available in Industrial Training Institute. Industrial training provides an opportunity for students to acquire practical knowledge which helps the students to develop skills and competencies they require to become employable
