On July 22, 2021 the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has announced ‘Jivlag Yojana’ for the children in the state who lost their parents due to covid. This scheme is announced by NCP senior politician and member of parliament, Supriya Sule, on the occasion of birthday of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. It is launched mainly to support the children who lost their parents and are facing hardships in this pandemic period. While state government of Maharashtra is taking various measures to provide support to the families affected, this scheme would be an additional lifelong support and love to the children. This initiative would be undertaken through NCP Welfare Trust. Each NCP workers will be given the responsibility of 450 of these children. These workers will keep a check on everything the children need as well as the activities such as birthdays, parents teacher meetings, etc. This scheme will be undertaken as a social responsibility by the party thereby giving the required warmth to the children.

Scheme Details:
- On the occasion of birthday of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) started ‘ Jivlag Yojana’ for the children in the state who lost their parents due to covid
- This scheme is announced by NCP senior politician and member of parliament, Supriya Sule on July 22, 2021
- It is launched for the welfare and social security of the children who lost their parents or are orphaned due to covid
- This scheme will be implemented by NCP Welfare Trust
- Under this scheme NCP workers will be appointed as guardians/ service envoys of the beneficiary children thereby taking care of their needs and wants
- Activities such as birthdays, shopping, parents teacher meetings, etc will be taken care of by these workers
- A group of 450 children will be allotted to each worker as service envoy
- Throughout the year these service envoys will look after the children
- All the documents about these children and the activities undertaken will be made public by the trust thereby ensuring utmost transparency
- About 4,506 children in the state are orphaned due to the pandemic
- Sule also stated that currently ruling Mahavikas Aghadi government is taking various measures to take care of the children thus providing them with financial assistance and this scheme will tend to provide lifelong support, love and warmth to the children thereby ensuring their overall welfare
- She also stated that this scheme is not only being carried out as a service but as a social responsibility.
