Matru Pushti Uphaar Scheme (MPUS)

Tripura government has come up with social welfare scheme called “Matru Pushti Uphaar Scheme” (MPUS). As per the scheme government will provide nutrition kit to pregnant and lactating women. Government also will provide free checkups four times in Primary Health Centers. After every test, they will received nutrition kit which includes food items such as ghee, peanuts, mixed pulses, jaggery and soyabeans worth Rs 500. 40,000 women will be benefits of the scheme. Government will be spending Rs 8 crore for the scheme.

Eligibility:

• Scheme is applicable for the state of Tripura
• Scheme is available for women who are pregnant and lactating mothers

Santana Chakma Minister of Social Welfare and Social Education and Animal Resource Development has announced this scheme. With this scheme women will become more health conscious and responsible for their pregnancy as well as infants. This initiative is very helpful for those who are suffering from severe acute malnourishment (SAM). Tripura state will come out from malnourishment.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Bandana Yojana (PMMBY):

• Government of India scheme
• The scheme is for severe acute malnourishment (SAM) children
• Under the scheme nutritious diet will be provided
• Tripura government will be providing additional benefits under the scheme
• Six eggs per week, 200 ml milk every day along with 20 gm jaggery will be provided under the scheme
• The scheme will cost additional Rs 23 lakh every year to tripura government
