The Jharkhand Government has announced Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana (MSY) for girls in the state. Financial assistance (Protsahan rashi / encouragement amount) will be provided to the girls in the state. 26 lakh families in the state with girls will get benefits of the scheme. A financial assistance will be provided to the girl child starting from their birth till 18 year of age. State government will deposit protsahan rashi when the girls are admitted to 1st, 6th, 9th and 11th standard. The primary objective of the scheme is to promote girls education and curb child marriages.

- It will help in social economic development of the state
- The benefits will be directly transfered directly to the beneficiaries DBT bank accounts
- State government`s mission is to curb poverty, migration, mal-nutrition and child marriages in the state
- Mukhyamantri Sukanya Yojana (MSY) will replace Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Ladli Lakshmi Yojana
- Both the schemes will be terminated from 1 January 2019
