Nari Adalat launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. A scheme for women empowerment and gender justice. Under this scheme, courts are set up in 19 regions of Gujarat for those women seeking justice, women who have no money, illiterate, Inaccessible, helpless. These courts are helping rural women overcome problems encountered in the normal judicial system. Violence strikes women from all kinds of backgrounds and of all ages. It can happen at work, on the street, or at home and to get speedy justice for such things these courts have set up. The concept devised ‘By women for women’ the Nari Adalats is operational for legal justice. These courts are not recognized by the State as a legal forum. However, the autonomous hybrid institutions are paralegal authority who solve women cases faster than judicial courts.
