On February 19, 2021, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. V Muraleedharan launched a new scheme for integrating passport services with DigiLocker platform of Government of India. This scheme will enable the applicants applying for passport services anywhere in India to upload their documents in the DigiLocker. The applicants can provide the link to their DigiLocker wherever documents are required thereby enabling paperless transactions. No original documents are required to be carried anywhere. This scheme is a crucial step in Digital India mission thereby contributing to the digital revolution and transformation.
