On November 30, 2020, Goa government launched a unique ‘One-time settlement scheme’ for electricity bill payment by the consumers in the state. The launch was announced by CMO Goa, Pramod Sawant. This scheme is basically to encourage the consumers to make the pending bill payment at once. Late fee payment will also be waived off by the state government. This is a welfare scheme mainly launched for the general public. It will lessen the burden of long-term pending electricity/ power bill payments. This scheme will all the active power consumers as well as the temporarily/ permanently disconnected power consumers.

- It is a state welfare scheme launched for benefiting the general public
- This scheme envisages one-time bill payment for the overdue power bills by the consumers as well as waiving off of the late fee payment by the state government
- Late fee payment will be waived off for those who make one-time payment or by easy installments in then given period
- This scheme will cover all the active and temporarily/ permanently disconnected power consumers
- Under this scheme, the consumers will be enabled to make the overdue bill payment at once by paying the principal amount
- Late fee will be waived off fully or partly depending on the repayment period
- There is no limit on the pending dues payment
