The Assam government launched ‘Orunodoi Scheme’ today, i.e. on December 01, 2020 at Numali Jalah Parade Ground, Amingaon. This scheme is launched for the women headed households as well as for the people with disability in the state. This scheme is about to be launched in 29 districts of the state. It aims at providing financial assistance as well as food security to the beneficiaries. This scheme will benefit about 19.10 lakh beneficiaries.

- The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to women and physically challenged people in the state
- It will also provide food security to the beneficiaries
- This scheme aims at women empowerment in the state
- It also aims to reduce the hardships faced by the families lead by women and people with physically disability
- This will enable the beneficiaries to get Rs. 830 for medicines, lentils, sugar and fruits
- It aims at financial stability as well as good health of the beneficiaries in the state
Scheme Details:
- CMO Assam launched a new ‘Orunodoi scheme’ on December 1, 2020 for the women headed families and physically challenged people
- It is launched in 29 districts in Assam state for now
- This scheme aims at holistic development of the beneficiaries
- Under this scheme, the beneficiaries will get financial assistance as well as food security
- It aims at public welfare and overall development in the state
- Under this scheme Rs. 830 will be given to the beneficiaries every month. Out of which the beneficiary can buy medicines of Rs. 400/- along with 5Kgs lentils of Rs, 200/-, Sugar of Rs. 80/- and Fruits of Rs. 150/-
- The amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT
- This scheme will lead to holistic development, thereby overcoming poverty
- Budget allocated for this scheme is Rs. 2800 crores
- It aims to benefit about 19.10 lakh beneficiaries in the state
