Post-matric Scholarship Scheme Portal (PMSP), Bihar

On August 27, 2021 the Bihar government launched a new Post Matric Scholarship Portal in the state. Under the Post Matric Scholarship scheme all the eligible students from SC, ST, BC and EBC can get the scholarship. These scholarships will be awarded to enable the students to study for higher education from Class 11, as per their choice. Earlier the applications were made and scholarships were issued through the national scholarship portal but due to some technical issues the applications could not be processed in the last three years. Thus, a new portal @pmsonline.bih.nic.in was launched for easing the process. This scheme is funded 75% by the central government and remaining by the state government. Applications from the students from 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22 batches are invited currently through the portal.

• The main objective of the initiative is to provide financial assistance to the SC, ST, BC, EBC category students.
• It aims that no reserved category student is deprived of higher education due to financial constraints.
• The initiative will enable the students to pursue higher education.
• The students will be able to pursue higher education after SSC, in the stream of their choice
• It will provide help to the students to meet their expenses for higher studies
• This financial assistance will help the students with further studies without having financial constraints.

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be a permanent of Bihar state only.
• Applicant must belong to SC, ST, BC, EBC categories in the state.
• Student must have passed matric class and must be studying in post matric class in a recognized institution.
• Annual income of the family of the applicant should be less than Rs. 2,50,000/-.

• Aadhaar Card
• Domicile Certificate
• Caste Certificate
• Income Certificate
• Educational marksheets/ certificates
• Passport sized photo

Application Process:

• Visit the official portal @ pmsonline.bih.nic.in
• Application links for SC/ ST students, BC/ EBC students are available on the home page itself.
• Click on the same and start with student registration.
• Then Enter personal details followed by bank details
• Click on apply.
• Then upload required documents and photo in prescribed format.
• Preview and finalize the application.
• Institutions can also register themselves on the same portal through ‘Institute Registration’ tab on the home page.
