On January 3, 2022 Union Minster of Defence Rajnath Singh launched a Scholarship Scheme for Defence Personnel Wards. This scheme was launched by the Defence Minister while speaking after the inauguration of Kalpana Chawla Centre for Space Science and Technology (KCCRSST). This scheme is launched for wards of defence personnel of all the three services i.e., Army, Navy and Air Force. It intends to encourage the students to take up higher technical education. It will be applicable to the defence personnel wards in the entire country. Scholarship amount awarded under this scheme will help the students in their higher studies.
