Scholarship Scheme to Nurture Talent

To identify and nurture young talent in the state   

On November 28, 2021 Himachal Pradesh state government issued a press release announcing the implementation of HP Swaran Jayanti Middle Merit Scholarship Scheme for government school students studying in class 6th, 7th and 8th in the state. This scheme is implemented  with an aim of identifying and nurturing talent at early stage. Under this scheme the students will be selected based on a state level examination conducted by SCERT, Solan every year. Financial assistance through this scheme will help the students in their schooling expenses. The state government will distribute 100 scholarships to the meritorious students in 12 districts of the state as per pre decided quota on the basis of average school enrollments.

  • 14 scholarships will be provided to the students in Kangra, 1 scholarship to the students in Kinnaur and 8 scholarships to the students in Kullu.
  • 1 scholarship will be provided to the students in Lahaul Spiti, 14 scholarship to the students in Mandi and 7 scholarships to the students in Una.
  • 11 scholarships will be provided to the students in Shimla, 11 scholarships to the students in Sirmour and 11 scholarships to the students in Solan.
  • To avail the benefit under this scheme the student must possess at least 75% attendance during the session for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • In case of acute illness or medical emergency the condition of 75% attendance will not be applicable.
  • This scheme intends to support and encourage the students to perform better in studies thereby shaping their future.
