SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship

SERB Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India is started new fellowship for research candidates as National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF). This scheme is good opportunity or given the chance to young researchers who have already received their Ph.D. /M.D. /M.S. in last 2 (two) years or have submitted their thesis and are going to get their degree in Science or Engineering or any area of medicine. These scheme will provide an excellent opportunity to young scientists and technologists. The fellowship is tenable only in India and can be implemented in any of the recognized academic institutions, national laboratories and other recognized R & D institutions.

Benefits of the SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship:

1. Fellowship of Rs. 55,000/- per month (consolidated) and Rs. 35,000/ per month for candidates who have submitted the thesis but degree not awarded
2. Research Grant of Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum
3. Overheads of Rs. 1,00,000/- per annum
4. Research grant can be used for purchasing minor equipment’s, consumables, national travel and contingencies
5. The fellows are not eligible to receive any other fellowship from any Government or Non-Governmental source during the tenure of the fellowship

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship:

1. The applicant should be an Indian citizen
2. The applicant should hold a Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering, or M.D or M.S degree in any area of medicine
3. The applicant must have obtained Ph.D./M.D/M.S degree from a recognized University, not before two years from the date of application
4. Those who have submitted their PhD/M.D/M.S thesis and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates, if selected, will be offered lower fellowship amount till they qualify the eligible degree
5. The upper age limit for the fellowship is 35 years at the time of the submission of application. Age relaxation of 5 (five) years will be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates

Document Required for Applying SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship:

1. Bio-data (under user profile section)
2. Age Proof Certificate
3. Qualification Degree/ Thesis Submission Certificate
4. Caste Proof Certificate (in case of Age Relaxation)
5. Undertaking Certificate by the applicant
6. Endorsement Certificate from the Mentor & Host Institute
7. Reprints of applicants two best publications

Application Procedure:

1. Applicants should first register into the online website http://serbonline.in/SERB/Registration.do and register yourself
2. After log-in, applicants are required to fill all the mandatory fields in Profile Detail section under User Profile, which includes Bio data, photo, Institute Address, etc.
3. Details including Project Title (max 500 characters), Project summary (max 3000 characters), Keywords (max 6), Objectives of the proposal (max 1500 characters), Expected output and outcome of the proposal (max 1500 characters) should be provided online at the time of submission of the application
4. Work Methodology and Research plan has to be uploaded in single PDF file not more than 3 pages (max 10 MB)
5. Finally submit the form
