The government of Goa is working on a new scheme called Training Scheme for Preparation for Civil Services & Competitive Exams for the scheduled tribe youth in the state. Under the scheme, free training will be given for the preparation of competitive exams like Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) and other competitive exams. The scheme was announced by the Minister for Tribal Welfare, Goa in Legislative Assembly. The objective of the scheme is to empower scheduled tribe youth in the state and increase their participation in the government.
Government is focused and committed on the education for tribal community. The Goa state government has provided financial support to them with various scholarships to students of the tribal community. A loan of Rs 1 lakh without any guarantee is available through Schedule Tribe Development Corporation (STDC) for the education, medical or employment purpose. The loan is sanctioned within 24 hours of application.
Sanskruti Bhavan Scheme is launched by the state government under the scheme community halls will be constructed in the tribal villages. These halls can be used by the people for community gathering and various other purposes for free of cost.
Another scheme called Adivasi Vikas Yojana is launched in Goa to develop adivasi villages in the state. Under the scheme basic amenities such as road, water, health care will be provided in the tribal villages.
Tribal Welfare Ministry will be implementing both the scheme. The government has also increased financial assistance for the repair and construction of the tribal houses.

Adivasi Vikas Yojana: Benefits, Eligibility, Documents Required & How to apply?
- A scheme to develop tribal areas in Goa
- This scheme was launched in 2014
- Basic amenities such as road, water, education and health-care to be provided under the scheme
- This scheme provides financial support up to Rs 1.25 crore for new projects in Village Panchayats / Zilla Panchayats and Municipalities
- Rs 60 lakh for upgradation/renovation of existing projects in Village Panchayats/Zilla Panchayats and Municipalities
- The scheme is applicable to the areas where there is a significant tribal population
