The Government of Odisha announced the state budget for the financial year 2018-19. The state Finance Minister Sashi Bhusan Behera announced the budget in the state assembly. The FM announced various schemes & programs in the budget. One of the most important of all for poor is Ama Ghare LED light Karyakram under the scheme 4 LED bulbs will be provided to the poor in the state for free. A provision of Rs. 125 crores is made in the budget for the same.
Odisha Budget 2018-19: List of schemes, programs, subsidies & budgetary allotments
Agriculture Development & Farmer Empowerment:
- Majority of budget allotment i.e. 12.3% (Rs. 16,765 crore) is given to the farming and agriculture in the state
- Rs. 602 crores are allocated for soil conservation
- Rs. 100 crores for quality seeds for farmers
- Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Program: Rs. 250 crore allocated for farmers welfare
- Green Mahanandi Mission: to protect water availability & improve livelihood
- Rs. 400 crores for crop insurance
Strengthening Connectivity Across Odisha:
- Rs. 4,265 crores for roads, bridges & railway over bridges
- Mukhamantri Sadak Yojana: Rs. 400 crores for 850 kms of rural roads
- Biju Setu Yojana: Rs. 600 crores for 313 bridges
- Rs. 100 crores for connecting unconnected roads
- Rs. 400 crores for railway projects in the state
- Rs. 100 crores for RCS-UDAN for airports in the state
Powering Cities & Villages to Empower Odisha:
- Rs. 560 crores allocated for various electrification schemes
- Ama Ghare LED Light: 125 crores to provide 4 free LED bulbs per poor households
- Rs. 530 crores under Odisha Distribution System Strengthening Project
- Rs. 125 crores for State Capital Region 24×7 power supply
Housing for All & Rural Development:
- Rs. 3,992 crores for Housing sector
- 20 lakh pucca houses will be constructed by December 2018
- PMAY-Gramin & Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana: Rs. 3,592 crores
- Rs. 400 crores for Odisha Urban Housing Mission-AWAAS to construct 20,000 houses & 5000 affordable houses
Promotion of Odia Language & Culture:
- World conference on Odiya language every five years starting 2019, 1 crores is allocated for the purpose
- Odiya Language Comission and Odiya Virtual Acadamy will be setup
- 1 crores for birthday celebration of Atibadi Jagannath Das and renovation of Kapileswarpur and Satalahadi Matha
- Mukhamantri Kalakara Sahayta Yojana: Rs. 60 crores for year 2018-19
- Rs. 10 crores for Kala Mandal and Rs. 5 crores for development and renovation of auditoriums and Kala Mandapas in 2018-19
- Public libraries in each of the districts
