The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shree Jai Ram Thakur announced a scheme for the minorities in the state called Mukhyamantri Alpsankhayak Kalyan Yojana (MAKY). The scheme is primarily for the Muslim community in the state. The objective of the scheme is to empower the communities and help them financially. The scheme is also expected to provide equal opportunities to the minority students and youth. The scheme provides marriage grant, financial help for health issues along with social security pension to the old-aged, widows and physically challenged from the Muslim community in the state.

- The scheme is applicable only to the minorities residing in Himachal Pradesh only

- Medical assistance is given only to the poor Muslims only
- Social security pension is given to poor Muslims who are disabled, widow or old-aged
