On March 14, 2021, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India announced a new scheme for Tourist vehicle operators under which new All-India tourist authorization/ permits will be issued on application. This scheme tends to promote tourism as well as increase state government’s income through tourism sector. It aims to ensure smooth movement of tourist vehicles in the country. It will help all the tourist vehicle operators with permits for 3 months at a stretch with a capacity of renewal up to 3 years. For getting the permit, applications are to be made by the beneficiaries with relevant documents and thereby post required scrutiny permits will be issued within 30 days of application.
