On September 10, 2020, CMO Gujarat Vijay Rupani launched ‘Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyanna Yojana’ a scheme for the development of farmers and agriculture sector in the state. Under this scheme 7 steps will be taken for benefitting the farmers across the state. Financial assistance will be provided focusing on all activities for storage, distribution and so on. Two important steps were launched by the CM namely, ‘Mukhyamantri Pak Sangraha Structure (Godown) Yojana’ and ‘Kisan Parivahan Yojana’. CM virtually launched the scheme from Gandhinagar at 80 places in 33 districts across the state.

Objectives and Benefits:
- Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyanna scheme mainly aims for providing assistance to the farmers and overall development of the agriculture sector in the state
- Under the scheme financial assistance will be provided to the farmers
- It aims at protecting the crop produce by secured storage capacities and distribution facilities
- The measures under the scheme will lead to reduced wastage of crop produce and full benefit will be derived by the farmers thereby

7 steps under the scheme for the benefit of farmers:

Mukhyamantri Pak Sangraha Structure Yojana:
- This is one of the initiatives under Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyanna scheme
- Under this initiative, financial assistance of Rs. 30,000/- will be provided to the farmer so that the farmer can then construct/take up storage facilities for the crop produce
- Usually due to heavy rains or unseasonal rains and other reasons there is a huge wastage of the crop produce
- To avoid such wastage or loss of the farmer, financial assistance is provided
- Any farmer can avail the benefit under the scheme
- Assistance under the scheme will be transferred to the bank account of the farmer in 2 installments
- Due to this assistance, in the next 3 months, the storage capacity of the farmers will be increased by 2,32 lakh tonnes thereby preventing wastage of the crop produced
Kisan Parivahan Yojana:
- This is one of the initiatives under Saat Pagla Khedut Kalyanna scheme
- Under this initiative, maximum financial assistance of Rs. 75,000/- for the purchase of small vehicles for transportation
- Usually farmers transport their farm produce through tenants or in some vehicles, and in case the vehicle is not available there is no option for transporting the goods
- To avoid such issue, financial assistance will be provided to the farmers to purchase carriage vehicles
- Any farmer can avail the benefit under the scheme once in 5 years
- Assistance under the scheme will be transferred to the bank account of the farmer in 2 installments
- Due to this assistance, farmer will be able to sell his crop produce in the market in his own small vehicle thereby leading to prosperous times
